BALTIMORE JEWELRY CENTER

10 East North Avenue, STE 130
EXHIBITION: Gather and Grow

The Baltimore Jewelry Center (BJC) is proud to present Gather and Grow, an exhibition by Margaret Jacobs exploring Kanien’kehá:ka ecological and cultural knowledge rooted in relationships with land and native plants. Jacobs’ work speaks to socially significant plant forms, not just as components of cultural ceremony or as the foundational elements of healing medicine, but as living relatives that are embedded with memory, history, and care.

The BJC offers classes, workshops, and studio access to artists of all backgrounds and experience levels, dedicated to building a vibrant creative community for the study and practice of metalworking. The organization provides affordable educational opportunities through subsidized program costs and supports jewelry and metal artists in developing sustainable careers through professional development, sales opportunities, and promotional platforms.

Entrance is on the ground floor of Centre Theater building (10 E North Ave). Look for the BJC mural on the Charles St side of the building; our entrance is to the left. Follow the walkway along the side of the building to the double doors past the mural. Ring the doorbell, and we'll let you in!

CLOSING RECEPTION: Threshold, Image

Marking the first solo exhibition of multidisciplinary Palestinian-Jordanian artist Faris Dajani, his recent body of work unravels through distortions of alienation, self-conflict, and martyrdom. Threshold, Image presents charcoal drawings, multimedia paintings, and video work, placing the four borders of the image as cropped limits where reality stops and subjectivity begins.

THE PARLOR

108 W. North Avenue
EXHIBITION: Track One: Soulstar by Parlor Artist-in-Residence, Kailah Foreman

On view from 1/31-4/30
'Track One: Soulstar' explores the intersections of memory, identity, and imagination. Inspired by Kailah’s lived experiences growing up as a young Black girl in east Baltimore, Track One: Soulstar shifts between scenes from her childhood– like riding in the backseat of her mother’s car listening to music, waiting late at night on the bus stop, spending time with her late father– and symbolic dreamscapes where these moments, that were before considered to be in the distant past, can continue to live.
