Baltimore National Heritage Area Photo Exhibit and contest
The Baltimore National Heritage Area is putting on a small exhibition showcasing the best photos from our 2024 It’s a SNAP photo contest. We are inviting photographers of all experience to participate in the 2025 contest. This year's theme is "Baltimore’s History is American History". We are looking for photos that represent the unique role Baltimore plays in the history of the United States as we know it today. Baltimore’s place in the Civil Rights Movement, our nation’s flag and anthem, the War of 1812, and other pivotal moments in American history all offer rich potentials for artistic exploration! No professional models, please. The Baltimore National Heritage Area is proud to present a small exhibition featuring the finest photographs from our 2024 It’s a SNAP photo contest. This showcase highlights the artistic talent and diverse perspectives of photographers who participated in last year’s event. We are excited to invite photographers of all experience levels to join the upcoming 2025 It’s a SNAP photo contest. Whether you are an amateur or seasoned photographer, we welcome your unique vision and creativity. "Baltimore’s History is American History" This year’s contest theme, "Baltimore’s History is American History," encourages participants to capture images that illustrate Baltimore’s significant contributions to the nation’s story. Alfonso Fernandez is a Baltimore-based visual artist whose evocative creations traverse the delicate intersection of culture, identity, and historical narratives. Dara Lorenzo is a Baltimore-based multimedia artist who connects memories, sentimentalism, expressions of empathy, and self-reflection through printmaking.
