‘ART WALK WITH’ Johns Hopkins
7:30 pm, starting at Club Car
Join Baltimore Heritage Executive Director Johns Hopkins on a Light City Baltimore tour to learn how Station North combines diversity with energy. The tour builds on the area's heritage of Korean businesses and famous Black-owned nightclubs that popularized Baltimore house music and put Baltimore jazz on the national map. Soft Water
AREA 405 presents Soft Water, featuring New-York-based artists and couple Qiuyu Wu and Yuhan Shen. Weaving the 5000-square-feet gallery with 6-mm PVC hoses connected to kinetic sculptures, their collaborative installation renders three states of water (solid, liquid, and gas) mirroring the water cycle in nature. The resulting movements produce a soundscape that flows throughout the gallery, proposing that varied forms of resilience can create collective transformation within social ecosystems. The exhibition opens with a soundscape experience on August 14, 2026 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. as part of the Station North Second Friday Art Walk. It also collaborates with First Flush, a tea-centric electronic music listening event, on August 23, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Residence by Rachel Cloud Adams
In her abstract collages and mixed-media assemblages, Rachel Cloud Adams seeks to engage the viewer through consideration of color, form, layering, and balance. The work is non-narrative but welcomes speculation and imaginative world-building on the part of the observer. Often, the delicate (magazine paper, pencil lines, bits of watercolor) appears in combination with the dense (wood, metal, plastic, cardboard), suggesting the interdependence of materials and their visual reinforcement of one another. In all of her work, she hopes to evoke a sense of presence and mystery, to imply rather than state explicitly.

Help local muralists Hiro Hubbard & Nether select content for the initial design phase of a potential new mural celebrating the music scene and performing arts in Station North. Please stop by their table in front of the Ynot Lot to talk with the artists and offer your input! The proposed location for the mural is the site of the former Ynot Lot on the side of the former venue The Crown. The goal of the project is to create a representational mural focusing on musicians, performers, and past/present venues that have helped shape the artistic identity of the neighborhood into what it is today.

Community Indigo Dye Session
We invite everyone to enjoy a guided indigo dye experience led in the dye lab from 630-730pm during Art Walk with Artist and Dyer Kenya Miles. This hands-on gathering invites participants to refresh a beloved old item and transform it into something new, working directly with natural indigo and exploring basic dyeing and resist techniques. Register to participate.
We’re offering this community indigo dye session as a way to support the studio through shared experience. Your participation will directly support our educational and community-based programming as well as general studio/garden operating efforts.
Station North Art Walk runs from 5-9 pm and is open to all. Feel free to spend time in Studio Blue’s Alternative Library, artists’ studios and Concept Store.

Fabrication of The Soul Group Art Exhibition
Fabrication of the Soul is a multimedia exhibition exploring the intricate, shifting relationship between humanity and the environment. Through the distinct lenses of their individual heritages, four contemporary artists—Spencer Tran, Makayla Castillo, Kimberly Reider, and Kyle Ramseur—confront how ecological disruption and societal pressures shape our shared modern existence.
Spanning large-scale abstraction, narrative illustration, fluid painting, and audiovisual elements, the works on display serve as a collective navigation of the cultural diaspora. By examining the friction between rapid technological expansion and the natural world, these artists translate personal history into universal symbolism.
Ultimately, Fabrication of the Soul invites us to pause, look inward, and question our own footprint on an ever-changing landscape.

An Evening of Stories That Challenge, Inspire, and Transform
Join Rise with a Purpose for an unforgettable evening of theater, film, and community as award-winning multidisciplinary artist Wordsmith presents the culmination of his SNF Parkway Artist Residency. Through original storytelling, cinematic filmmaking, and a bold reimagining of Shakespeare, this one-of-a-kind event celebrates the voices, talent, and creativity of Baltimore’s next generation of artists.
The evening begins at 6:00 PM with a Happy Hour featuring custom baked goods from Codetta Bake Shop, giving guests an opportunity to connect before the performances begin.
The evening continues with Uncle Bey’s Will, an original play written and directed by Wordsmith and performed by the My Brilliance Shines Theater Troupe. When a family gathers following the passing of their beloved Uncle Bey, they discover that his greatest inheritance isn’t wealth, it’s wisdom. As hidden truths emerge and relationships are tested, each family member must decide what legacy they will leave behind.
Closing the evening is a bold reinterpretation of Act II, Scene I from Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost, adapted by Wordsmith and the My Brilliance Shines Theater Troupe. Blending Shakespeare’s timeless wit with contemporary storytelling, this fresh adaptation demonstrates how classic works continue to resonate with modern audiences.

HIDE
HIDE is an artist-curated group exhibition featuring artists from the Mount Royal Multi-Disciplinary MFA second year cohort. Playing on the double meaning of the word hide (concealment and pelt), the show presents pieces in conversation with the cultural phenomenon of upcycling and the unseen accumulations of histories held by objects.
